We are looking for a 13-14hh pony for our daughter to love to bits, who has just come to the end of her present loan which is unbearably sad.
This is our story so far:
My daughter started riding at 5 ending up at Albourne as part of the pony club there. She was doing so well, we started looking at the possibility of her having a loan. We were lucky enough to find a gorgeous but speedy 12.1h palamino. We were also lucky that they allowed us to keep her in their private yard. So we were able to learn all aspects of looking after a pony rather than just tacking up and getting on! It has been a learning curve but even my husband is now competent enough to take my daughetr to shows and participate in all that needs to be done! Pony duties are shared between us. Basically, we are now ready to go solo.
She has just participated in the Eridge 4 day rally where her confidence grew even more as she galloped across the X country course, much to her mothers horror! She also competently jumped a course of 2ft 3" She has grown in confidence and experience and we want this to continue. Her present loan pony may have been speedy but has been a real confidence giver too and that is what we are looking for now-a pony she can share and grow with, who will give her confidence. It needs to be forward going but does not have to be so speedy.
We are happy to help give your pony exercise one day per week or so, or take on full time. Ideally we would like to buy eventually. We would opt for full livery although my daughter will do stable duties too as I beleive its important for her to do the hard work side of having a pony.
She would spend lots of time building a relationship with the pony, would like to be able to take the pony to PC activities but also just have lots of fun at home and learn to know each other and trust each other.
If you are looking for help with exercise or a 'forever' home for your very special pony, we could be the right family. We have all grown to love her present loan, she is part of our family and a wrench to leave her. Rest assured, in return for allowing us to take on your pony, he or she would receive huge amounts of love, hugs and kisses and the very best care. Your pony will become our family. |
